How it works

The calculator applies each marketplace's published fee model from our dated snapshot: a selling/referral percentage (Amazon uses your chosen category rate), any per-order fixed fee, the per-item minimum where it applies, and payment processing. It does not include Amazon FBA fulfillment, storage, optional ads, subscriptions or sales tax — add those for your true bottom line.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my profit selling on a marketplace?

Net profit = sale price - marketplace fees - your item cost - your shipping cost. Marketplace fees usually include a selling/referral percentage, a per-order fixed fee and payment processing. This calculator totals them for you and shows your margin. Snapshot June 2026 - verify rates on the official fee page.

Does the calculator include Amazon FBA fees?

No - it estimates the referral fee plus processing only. If Amazon ships for you, add the per-unit FBA fulfillment fee (about $3.18-$7+ for standard sizes) from our FBA fee table to get your true net.

Why is my effective fee higher than the headline rate?

Per-order fixed fees and payment processing add to the percentage, and some marketplaces charge the percentage on shipping and sales tax too. On low-price items the fixed fees can dominate, pushing the effective rate well above the headline number.
